Singularity-Katakamuna

Note on Katakamuna — The Fourth Verse: What the Voice Already Knows

Bouba. Kiki.

Which one is round, and which one is sharp? Ask people across the world — across languages, across cultures — and the answers converge.

Between sound and impression, there is something felt without being taught.

Katakamuna classified the voice into 48.

48 sonic elements, each corresponding to a significant phenomenon, action, or state of the universe. This is not an encyclopedia of sounds. It is a system that attempts to describe the structure of the world through the phenomenon of the voice itself.

Why the voice?

The voice is born from the whole body. The vocal cords vibrate, the chest and skull resonate, the entire body receives the frequency. Before the brain recognises “this is the sound A,” the body has already responded.

The intuition felt toward Bouba and Kiki may be a trace of that response.

Katakamuna Verse 04 is structured in five phases.

I HA TO HA NI / KA MI NA RI TE / KA TA KA MU NA / YO SO YA KO TO / HO KU SI U TA

In the final phase, there is a word: UTA.

U — the boundary between the ISR (Invisible Source Realm) and the VPR (Visible Phenomenal Realm).
TA — that which emerges from that boundary as vibration into the phenomenal world.

UTA is the moment a vibration crosses the boundary and becomes phenomenon.

In Katakamuna, the execution device for that process is the vocal cords.

What does the body know when a voice is made?

Before the mind assigns meaning, the voice is already executing something. Katakamuna attempted to describe that something as a structured system.

Between the structure of UTA and the process of cosmic manifestation, there may be a structural similarity worth considering.

What the body knows before the mind does.

This may be where Katakamuna points.

The 48 sonic elements — each one mapping to a distinct physical state or phenomenon — will be explored in the verse that follows.
